Donald Trump Has Gotten Richer Since Returning to the White House

A businessman before entering politics, Donald Trump continues to manage his businesses alongside his duties as head of state.

American media outlets report that the statesman has accumulated at least US$ 1.4 billion in assets since his second inauguration in January 2025. “At least,” as many of his business ventures remain shrouded in secrecy.

Sources estimate the Trump family’s net worth at around US$ 7 billion, placing them among the 500 richest people in the world.

Traditionally involved in real estate, Trump has invested in hotel complexes, extending into the Middle East and Asia.

He is also believed to have amassed wealth through cryptocurrency speculation. Additionally, his presence in the Oval Office attracted new sources of capital, including a Boeing 777 gifted by Qatar and settlements awarded to American media outlets he sued for defamation.

The visibility provided by his status as the 45th and then 47th president of the United States also boosted sales of unexpected products on donaldtrumpstore.com: the “Trump Victory 45-47” cologne, the “Fight, Fight, Fight” perfume (a reference to an assassination attempt against him), Bibles, golden sneakers “Never Surrender” featuring a T and the American flag, guitars, and even a US$ 100,000 watch made with 200 grams of gold and 122 diamonds.

More broadly, according to a recent survey by the Washington Post, members of the Trump administration are the wealthiest in modern history, with twelve billionaires holding a combined fortune of US$ 390.6 billion—almost equivalent to the GDP of Denmark, over which the American president has expressed a desire to revoke sovereignty over Greenland.

In Trump’s world, the ultra-rich often occupy government positions precisely because they are… ultra-rich. These government officials also contributed significantly to the candidate’s campaign.
