Exports of goods from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macau rose 74.2 percent in the first quarter, compared to the same period of 2022, according to official figures released today.
The Portuguese-speaking countries exported goods worth 372 million patacas (41.9 million euros), according to the Macau Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC).
However, the value of Macau’s exports to Portuguese-speaking countries was only 67,000 patacas (7.55 million euros), a decrease of 79.5%.
Total foreign trade of goods in the first quarter of 2023 in Macau amounted to MOP 38.87 billion (EUR 4.38 million), down 7.5 percent from MOP 42.03 billion (EUR 4.73 million) in the same quarter of 2022.
The DSEC also said that the trade deficit in March was MOP11.66 billion (‘1.31 million).
