Ukraine’s foreign minister is visiting Angola on Thursday and Friday as part of a tour of countries in Africa and the Arab world to promote his country’s peace plan and to shore up humanitarian and energy support for Ukraine.
The minister, Andrii Sybiha, is to visit four Arab and African countries on behalf of Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to “promote the Peace Formula, develop political dialogue, consolidate humanitarian and energy support for Ukraine and develop trade and economic cooperation,” according to a news release from the ministry.
He is to visit Angola on 24 and 25 October, immediately following a visit to Oman. In Luanda, he has talks planned with various senior Angolan government officials as well as a meeting with Ukrainians living in Angola.
On 26 October, the minister is to visit Egypt, where he is to hold talks with senior officials and the leadership of the League of Arab States.
On 27 and 28 October, Sybiga is to travel to South Africa where he will meet with government officials, businesspeople, leading experts and the Ukrainian community in Johannesburg.
