Indaqua and Angola’s Public Water and Sanitation Companies Sign Management Contracts Worth €10 Million

The Portuguese group Indaqua has signed two management contracts worth €10 million with the Public Water and Sanitation Companies (EPAS) of the Angolan provinces of Namibe and Lunda Norte, Lusa reported on Monday, January 19.

As part of this project financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) until July 2028, the Indaqua group will deploy 20 specialists dedicated to improving water and sanitation services in the two provinces, covering a population of over 1.5 million inhabitants, announced the water management and wastewater treatment company.

According to a statement from Indaqua, the management, operation, and maintenance contracts signed with the National Water Directorate, which benefit the water and sanitation companies in these provinces, aim to “improve the quality of and access to services and consolidate the ongoing business processes.”

The two contracts, with a total value of over €10 million, are financed by the EIB and are part of the second institutional development project in the water sector implemented in Angola.

The work on the ground, which will be carried out through the subsidiary Vista Water, also includes the training of 12 staff members and will last three years.

They foresee “cross-cutting action across all management areas” of these companies, including the development of a business plan, monitoring and management control mechanisms, financial and human resources management procedures, improving the efficiency of water networks and asset inventory, plans dedicated to water safety and quality control, environmental management, and emergency response.

With this initiative, the group consolidates its presence in Angola, where it has been operating for over 15 years, the document adds.
