The Angolan government has earmarked 105 billion kwanzas in its proposed 2025 State Budget to support the country’s 2024/2025 agricultural campaign.
This significant allocation reflects Angola’s commitment to bolstering agricultural production, focusing on providing inputs, equipment, and financing for family farming enterprises.
Through the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the government has devised an action plan targeting over one million family farming households. This initiative includes the distribution of fertilisers, high-quality seeds, and essential agricultural tools and equipment to enhance productivity and food security.
As part of the programme, 222,371 work tools have been procured, with machetes and hoes making up 82% of the total. This effort underscores the government’s dedication to equipping small-scale farmers with the resources needed to sustain their livelihoods and contribute to the agricultural sector’s growth.
