Angolan Economic Climate Indicator Improved in Q1

Improved confidence, essentially among businesspeople in the manufacturing industry, influenced the rise to 11 points in the Angolan Economic Climate Indicator in the first quarter of this year, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE).

The data is cited in an analysis by Banco Millenium Atlântico, based on the Rapid Information Sheet on the Economic Situation for Businesses, in which the National Statistics Institute reveals that this indicator increased by three points compared to the last three months of 2023.

The study shows that the manufacturing sector went from four points in the fourth quarter of 2023 to 13 points in the first three months of this year.

The transport sector also went from 10 points to 24, trade from 12 to 16 points and tourism from 14.7 to 16.4 points.

The INE publication, which illustrates the situation in seven sectors, also surveyed the mining industry, construction and communications.
