Angolan Domestic LPG Supply Rises 15% in Q4, 2024

Angola introduced 140,185 metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas to the domestic market in Q1, 2024. This showed a 15% increase compared to the previous quarter, with 68% of supply derived from the Angola LNG plant.

Delivering a presentation on the oil derivative market’s Q1, 2024 results, Angola’s downstream regulator Instituto Regulador dos Derivados do Petróleo (IRDP) explained that the market witnessed positive growth in Q4, 2024, with 1.3 million metric tons acquired for commercialization. Of this, 60% accounted for diesel and 27% gasoline.

The IRDP also issued 119 licenses, including 69 first-time licenses, while 135 inspections were carried out and 509 permits for importing petroleum products were granted.
