As part of the “Diversify More” Project, an initiative of the National Institute for the Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM), the World Bank has financed 300 million dollars under an agreement signed with the Angolan government. The objective is to accelerate the diversification of the economy and create sustainable jobs, with a special focus on the provinces of the Lobito Corridor.
According to INAPEM’s Executive Administrator, Ricardo da Silva, who on Wednesday (10) opened the workshop presenting subcomponent 3A, the “Diversify More” project is structured around four components. Ricardo da Silva highlighted subcomponent 3A, aimed at strengthening business capacities and improving access to financing.
The technical implementation of this subcomponent is under the responsibility of INAPEM, as the executing agency and project partner. According to the executive administrator, the project’s intervention focuses on priority productive value chains, rehabilitation of essential infrastructure, promotion of private investment, and improvement of the business environment, following an integrated approach to sustainable economic development.
Subcomponent 3A focuses on strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with emphasis on women entrepreneurs, agro-industry, digital transformation, innovation, and internationalisation. Supported companies will be guided on how to access public and private financing mechanisms, as well as integrate into strategic value chains.
