Angola: White House Confirms Biden’s Trip in December

The President of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden, will be travelling to Angola in the first week of December, the White House confirmed on Thursday.

The trip to Angola was initially scheduled for October, but Biden postponed it to oversee the passage of Hurricane Milton through the United States.

In Angola, Biden will be received by the country’s President, João Lourenço, according to White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre.

Jean-Pierre said Biden, ‘will recognise Angola’s role as a regional leader and highlight the significant transformation in the relationship between the US and Angola’.

The White House also indicated that both countries are working on various ‘urgent challenges’, among which it pointed to bridging the infrastructure gap in Africa, strengthening peace and security or improving food security.

The US head of state will also take advantage of the trip to meet with representatives of the private sector.
