Angola’s trade balance posted a surplus of approximately 1.01 trillion kwanzas in February 2026, compared to 1.25 trillion in the same period of the previous year, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE)
The INE reports, in a report published yesterday, that there was a 10.83% decrease in the total value of goods exports and a 1.72% decrease in the total value of goods imports. According to the document, the data reflect the behavior of crude oil prices, the main export product.
INE data indicate that the main destination countries for goods exports during the period under review were China, with 46.42%, India, with 28.03%, Indonesia, with 6.08%, the United Arab Emirates, with 4.85%, and Turkey, with 3.12%, of the total value. For goods imports, the main countries of origin were: China, with 23.47%, India, with 12.98%, Portugal, with 7.75%, Togo, with 7.01%, the Netherlands, with 4.87%, and Brazil, with 4.09%, of the total value.
According to the report, in the same period of February 2025, the destination countries with the largest decrease in the value of goods exports were Spain, Togo, and France. On the other hand, the countries of origin that recorded the largest decrease in goods imports were: the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, and Argentina.
