Angola: Tourism sector sees over 100% increase in jobs by 2025

The 30% increase in tourist arrivals in Angola last year was accompanied by over 100% growth in the number of jobs created by private companies in the tourism sector.

For every thousand tourists who landed on Angolan soil in 2025, 10.6 jobs were created, representing a reversal in the decline in tourist numbers, which began in 2014 and worsened with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, and in the creation of jobs that the sector was able to provide.

The information was released on Thursday, 29, by the Minister of Tourism, Márcio Daniel, at the opening of the 1st Advisory Council of that body, which runs until today, in Luanda, He emphasized that the number of tourists traveling to our country for tourism and vacations has also seen a consistent increase, which shows a change in the profile of tourists and confirms the diversification of the national tourism offer.

As an example, according to the minister, in the last quarter of 2025, of the 59,618 tourists who entered Angola, 10,469 came for vacation or leisure. However, despite these results, the minister believes it is necessary to keep our feet firmly on the ground, considering the future path to be more demanding in view of our responsibility to those who find their livelihood in tourism and related activities.
