Angola: Liquidity in the Angolan Banking System Grew by 61% in April

The National Bank of Angola (BNA) reported that liquidity in the Angolan banking system grew in April, reaching 200.7 billion kwanzas.

The figures represent a 61% increase, following a 13% rise in March, reflecting the authorities’ efforts to foster growth in the national economy and the national banking system.

The information was released on Thursday, the 14th, by BNA Governor Manuel Tiago Dias, who was speaking at a press conference following the 129th Meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee.

“The BNA forecasts that Angola will end 2026 with an inflation rate of 11.5%, a result of the continued slowdown in prices observed in recent months across the country,” the official said.

Despite the revision of the inflation forecast, the National Bank of Angola maintained its forecast for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth at 3.5%, signaling confidence in macroeconomic stability and the gradual recovery of the national economy.
