Since its founding in 2012, the Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC) has issued, in a shorter period, the largest number of guarantees, driven by the creation of the Support Line for Microcredit Companies (IASMC).
To date, approximately 19,803 guarantees have been issued, but the numbers may still grow, as the FGC plans new guarantee allocations at least by the end of this year. At the end of 2022, when the leadership changed, the FGC had issued only 752 guarantees, growing to more than 19,000 in less than five years of operation.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Credit Guarantee Fund, Luzayadio Simba, told OPAÍS that the more than 19,000 guarantees issued so far represent a huge advance for the institution compared to previous years.
Luzayadio Simba highlighted that the growth in guarantee issuance has allowed the FGC to impact the lives of many Angolan families, generate employment, and improve the well-being of many people. Without providing financial figures, he described the institution’s performance for this year as positive. Regarding financial inclusion, the FGC Chairman emphasized that, over almost five years, the institution has played a major role in increasing financial literacy.
