Cooperatives and producer associations operating in the agricultural sector may count next year on the long-awaited credit line of 15 billion kwanzas, if the government completes the negotiations for its implementation, which have been ongoing for over a year.
The implementation of this credit line is part of a set of measures to promote economic activity, food security, and employment that are planned for 2026, according to the rationale report of the General State Budget (OGE), which will be submitted for a vote by deputies in the National Assembly on Monday, December 15.
Government authorities believe that this measure will boost national economic diversification, as it will have a strong impact on entities that aggregate the agricultural sector, aiming to enhance the development of the agribusiness value chain and strengthen the role of cooperatives and producer associations.
The promoter of this initiative also acknowledges that organizations operating in this segment play a key role in organizing and integrating value chains, according to the released document.
