Sociedade Mineira de Catoca reported a net profit of $109 million for the 2025 fiscal year, with its financial statements unanimously approved during the 79th General Shareholders’ Meeting held this week.
Despite an adverse international environment, the performance confirms the company’s resilience, consolidating its role as one of the main assets in Angola’s diamond sector.
At the same meeting, the shareholders approved the distribution of 90% of the net profit as dividends, with the remaining 10% allocated to a reserve for environmental projects, a decision that reflects the company’s strengthened commitment to sustainable development practices.
Also during the meeting, the appointment of Pedro Inácio Velasco Galiano to the position of General Manager and CEO was announced, following the resignation of Benedito Paulo Manuel. The decision marks the beginning of a new leadership cycle at the company.
The transition takes place against a backdrop of growing demands in the extractive sector, with the new leader committing to continuing the company’s growth trajectory while strengthening the pillars of operational efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.
The meeting was attended by shareholders Endiama and Taadeen Investment, in an atmosphere described as one of strategic alignment and institutional stability.
