Flights on the Luanda-Cabinda route, operated by Angolan airline TAAG, will be the first to debut at Luanda’s new airport from 10 November, according to the Angolan airline.
This date marks the beginning of the gradual transfer of passenger flights from the current 4 de Fevereiro International Airport to António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN).
According to TAAG, Cabinda was chosen because it is the domestic destination with the highest volume of passenger and cargo traffic, with flights in the morning, afternoon and evening, making it possible to “permanently activate the different teams and operational systems at AIAAN”.
TAAG will offer four daily flights to Cabinda, with departures and arrivals exclusively to and from António Agostinho Neto International Airport, on a Dash 8-Q400 aircraft with capacity for 74 passengers.
In December, the routes to the eastern region (Dundo, Saurimo and Luena) and Soyo will be integrated into the flight schedule from AIAAN, and progressively, in the first quarter of 2025, the other domestic and international connections will be transferred.
Public transport access to António Agostinho Neto International Airport will be provided by the Luanda Railway (CFL) and Transportes Coletivos Urbanos de Luanda buses.
