The National Agency for Petroleum, Gas, and Biofuels (ANPG), the concessionaire, regulator, and supervisory body for the upstream segment of the sector, is holding a workshop today, February 12, in Luanda, to present the 2026-2030 Oil Sector Social Responsibility Plan.
During the meeting, which will also be attended by operators in the oil sector, the pillars, objectives, initiatives, and indicators for monitoring the sector’s social responsibility actions will be presented, with a view to achieving lasting positive impacts on local communities and the environment, according to a note from the ANPG. The social responsibility of the oil sector is “a fundamental pillar for the country’s socioeconomic development.”
The National Agency for Petroleum, Gas, and Biofuels, together with its partners, develops activities to support and promote social initiatives that are aligned with the Executive’s guidelines, aiming to create opportunities for sustainable and integrated growth in communities. The sector’s strategy consists of implementing projects that help improve the quality of life of the population. These are projects focused on the areas of education, vocational training, health, economic development, sports, culture, the environment, and social action (support for orphanages, churches, and disadvantaged groups).
