The Republic of Angola and the Federative Republic of Brazil are signing today a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation in the Field of Electric Power, as part of the Ministerial Meeting between the Republic of Angola and the Federative Republic of Brazil.
This instrument will be initialed by the Minister of Energy and Water of the Republic of Angola, João Baptista Borges, and the Minister of Mines and Energy of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Alexandre Silveira, marking a significant step in deepening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
The central objective of the Memorandum of Understanding is to strengthen technical and institutional cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on the development and modernization of electricity systems, covering areas such as energy planning in Brazil, energy production, transmission, and distribution, as well as the promotion of the energy transition and sustainability.
The signing of this agreement is part of the official mission of the Angolan delegation to Brazil, which takes place from March 22 to 27, 2026, and includes a series of institutional and technical meetings with leading Brazilian entities in the energy sector, aimed at exchanging experiences, strengthening strategic partnerships, and identifying new opportunities for cooperation and investment.
Through this initiative, the Republic of Angola and the Federative Republic of Brazil reaffirm their shared commitment to sustainable development, energy security, and the strengthening of the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
