Agricultural production in Angola during the 2024/2025 season exceeded 30.4 million tons, with corn, wheat, cassava, sweet potatoes, vegetables, fruits, and commercial coffee leading the way, representing an 8.5% increase compared to the previous season.
The information was announced on Tuesday by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, during a roundtable discussion on “Sustainable Agriculture” on the sidelines of the Africa-France Forum, held from the 11th to the 12th of this month in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to the minister, who led the Angolan government’s economic delegation to that high-level event, the agricultural sector has become the largest contributor to the country’s productive structure in recent years.
According to the ANGOP news agency, during his remarks, José de Lima Massano noted that Angola’s agricultural sector has doubled its share of the country’s economy over the past ten years, rising from 13.66% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2015 to 25.43% in 2025.
