Angola’s government has signed an agreement with the African Development Bank (AfDB) worth around $79 million (€76.6 million) to finance the Crescer project, according to a presidential order.
The aim is to ‘ensure the means of financing to facilitate access to credit for start-ups, as well as micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, improve the regulatory framework and strengthen the professional qualification of young people,’ according to the decree signed by João Lourenço.
The Crescer Project aims to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in Angola by developing demand-orientated digital, technical, ecological and business skills, stimulating creativity and innovation among young people and supporting start-ups in accessing innovative funding.
The aim is to train more than 95,000 young people in digital technologies and in technical and vocational education and training in climate-smart agriculture and transport.
