Chinese and African companies signed 15 cooperation agreements, worth $5.1 million, during a virtual fair on Friday, The Paper advanced.

According to the Chinese state news portal, the 2021 China-Africa Online Matchmaking for Agri-products attracted more than 30 companies dedicated to trading agricultural products such as cashew nuts, sesame and spices.

The fair brought together African producers, including some from Mozambique, with the aim of facilitating business between China and Africa.

The event was organised by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the Standard Bank of South Africa and Chinese supplier Hunan Gaoqiao Grand Market Co. Ltd.

Hunan Gaoqiao Grand Market signed an agreement in April to sell 2,000 tonnes of sesame seeds to importers from Mozambique during the bi-annual meeting of the Hunan Free Trade Pilot Zone.
