Fuel prices in Cabo Verde will rise by an average of 6.86% in August, with increases across petrol, diesel, and butane gas, the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME) announced on Friday, 31 July.
Petrol will cost 1.52 euros per litre, standard diesel will rise to 1.43 euros per litre, and a 12.5-kilogram butane gas cylinder will increase to 16.05 euros.
The adjustment reflects movements in international markets, as Cabo Verde imports all of its fuel supplies.
Taking into account petrol, diesel, butane, and other fuel sub-products, the combined average price increase across all categories amounts to 6.86%, ARME said.
Compared with the same period last year — August 2024 — the average variation in fuel prices represents an increase of 29.05%. Relative to the average price movement recorded so far this year, the increase stands at 22.81%.
The maximum consumer retail price for each fuel type is set on a monthly basis by ARME.
