Petrol and diesel prices in Cabo Verde will rise by 12% in October, according to pricing tables published by the archipelago's multi-sector regulatory authority for the month.
Petrol will increase to €1.79 per litre, while diesel will rise to 1.73 escudos per litre.
The new prices represent the highest levels recorded at least since January 2024, and the largest single monthly increase over that period — in line with trends observed across global energy markets.
The price of cooking gas will rise by a more modest 5.7%, reaching €19.96, with the smaller increase attributed to mitigation measures currently in force.
The revision reflects "the evolution of international oil and petroleum product prices, as well as the impact of exchange rate movements recorded during the month of September," the Autoridade Reguladora Multissectorial da Economia (ARME) announced.
