Casio has refreshed its Edifice watch line with the new EFR-109 series, comprising four models that combine compact dimensions, stainless-steel construction and a design aesthetic rooted in classic watchmaking. The launch campaign was held at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Japan, with the iconic Toyota 2000GT as its backdrop.
The collection includes the EFR-109D-1A with a black dial, the EFR-109D-2A in navy blue, the EFR-109D-3A featuring a green dial with gold accents, and the EFR-109L-7A with a cream dial and a perforated brown leather strap.
Each watch features a stainless-steel case measuring 45.3 mm in length, 38 mm in width and 9.8 mm in thickness. According to Casio, these dimensions are intended to provide a more understated presence on the wrist and make the watches easier to pair with a range of attire.
The steel-bracelet versions weigh 97 g, while the leather-strap model comes in at 44 g. The EFR-109D models use a stainless-steel bracelet with a triple-fold clasp, whereas the EFR-109L-7A adopts a perforated genuine brown leather strap.
The dial follows a minimalist approach, with applied baton-style hour markers, three hands and a date window positioned at the three o’clock position. The assembly is protected by a spherically curved mineral crystal, a design choice that reinforces the watch’s classic appearance.
The new series is powered by an analogue quartz movement with a stated accuracy of up to ±20 seconds per month. A SR920SW battery provides an estimated autonomy of approximately three years. All four models offer water resistance to 10 bar, allowing everyday use in situations involving water contact within the limits specified by the manufacturer.
The Edifice EFR-109 line is available on Casio’s European websites, including those for Spain, the Netherlands and Germany, at a recommended retail price of €119. Product pages indicate that the models are launching soon, with sales in Germany scheduled to begin on 1 October. Casio has not yet announced availability in other markets.
