The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals for projects that promote the socio-economic recovery of internally displaced and returnee women and girls in Cabo Delgado. The proposals are part of the project called “Promoting the socio-economic recovery and resilience of internally displaced and returnee women and girls in Northern Mozambique”, funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). This call is open to all Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) authorised to operate in Mozambique, which meet the other eligibility criteria, with solid experience in the development and implementation of innovative, effective, quick-turnaround and sustainable projects for the socio-economic empowerment of women including youth and adolescents, the promotion of gender equality and humanitarian assistance.
Proposals should aim to promote the socio-economic recovery of internally displaced and repatriated women and girls in Cabo Delgado province (Districts: Palma, Mocímboa da Praia, Nangade, Muidumbe, Macomia and Quissanga).
Proposals should take into account the following thematic areas:
- Promoting technical skills in the area of civil construction (master builders) and increasing the capacities of women in civil construction, as well as guaranteeing access to adequate, affordable, safe and climate change resilient housing for women affected by the humanitarian situation.
- Promote socio-economic recovery and access to sustainable livelihoods for women and young women affected by the humanitarian situation; or
- Increase access by affected women and girls to integrated care services for survivors of gender-based violence and conflict-related violence, as well as mechanisms for the protection of women’s rights.
