A total of 29.4 million dollars, equivalent to a little over 1.8 billion meticais, was invested by the petrochemical company Sasol between July last year and July this year, in contracts with national companies as part of the implementation of the Five Year Local Content Plan (PQCL).
Sasol is the South African petrochemical company holding the concession for exploration of the Pande/Temane natural gas fields in Inhambane province.
According to the company’s supplies area director, Gilda Muhai, the implementation of this plan results from the agreement signed by the Government and Sasol in December 2019, which “advocates the strategic use of contracting and procurement procedures to boost local content”.
In this scope, Sasol offers more than 60 contracting opportunities for national companies for areas of infrastructure construction and maintenance, provision of services in the areas of catering, transport, health and safety and maintenance of social infrastructure, such as schools and hospitals.
In addition, there are opportunities to hire companies to provide services linked to gas exploration and processing activities in the wells of Pande and Temane and some districts of Inhambane province.
