Eni Rovuma Basin (ERB), the delegated operator of the Area 4 project in the Rovuma basin, in Cabo Delgado province, northern Mozambique, is preparing to drill four more wells to explore for hydrocarbons.
According to information published on Tuesday 7 November by Semanário Económico, the company is in the preliminary phase of contracting integrated well testing services, and the contracted entity will have to supply equipment to carry out the activities.
“The installation of the testing equipment should make it possible to support onshore and offshore operations with qualified personnel for each service requested, not limited to the logistics base on the outskirts of the city of Pemba,” Eni said.
The concessionaire of Area 4, which has been exporting Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) since November last year, is preparing a second floating platform, called Coral Norte, to double the extraction of hydrocarbons off the northern coast of Mozambique.
Area 4 is operated by Mozambique Rovuma Venture (MRV), a joint venture co-owned by ExxonMobil, Eni and CNPC (China), which has a 70 per cent stake in the concession contract. Galp, Kogas (South Korea) and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (Mozambique) each have a 10 per cent stake.
