British multinational Petrofac has signed an agreement to establish a training joint venture with Mozambique’s state-owned oil and gas company ENH – Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos.
The said agreement is designed to support the nationalisation goals of the country’s energy industry.
“ENH’s share in the joint venture has been determined at 51% and Petrofac’s at 49%. The partnership will provide training and skills management solutions for Mozambique’s domestic onshore and offshore developments,” Petrofac was quoted by the Upstreamonline portal on Tuesday, December 20.
Commenting on the deal, Nick Shorten, Petrofac’s chief operating officer, said, “we continue to see growth in East Africa and look forward to expanding our interests in Mozambique through this partnership with ENH. Our training professionals will employ their extensive experience in the industry and at some of the world’s largest energy companies to develop local talent and create additional value for our clients in Mozambique.”
ENH is the Mozambican state entity responsible for the exploration, prospecting and marketing of petroleum products and represents the state in petroleum operations.
