Omar Mithá, current CEO of the National Investment Bank (BNI), has been appointed by the government to head the Investment Advisory Council of Mozambique’s Sovereign Fund (FS). The decision was announced on Thursday (12th) during a Cabinet meeting.
The Advisory Council, led by Mithá, will provide opinions on Sovereign Fund Investment Policy decisions. Members include Enilde Sarmento, Hercílio Simão, and others. The FS, part of the Economic Acceleration Program, aims to manage oil revenues responsibly, protect the economy from external shocks, and promote economic development.
The Cabinet also approved various regulations, including the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses with Kenya. Other areas reviewed included gender programs and technical education certifications.
