The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, challenged the national diplomats to identify more partners and investments for the exploration of the value chain of the Liquefied Natural Gas in the Rovuma Basin, in Cabo Delgado province, and for other equally promising areas in the national economy.
Speaking in Maputo, at the opening of the 10th Coordinating Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MINEC), the statesman also urged them to position themselves so that our country takes greater advantage of its membership in the Club of Natural Gas Producers and Exporters, “gathering more experiences and exploring opportunities that are offered in that forum.”
“We will also have to employ our diplomacy to promote a full development and transformation of the hydrocarbons of the Rovuma Basin and other natural resources present throughout the national territory,” he added according to Notícias.
Under the slogan “For a diplomacy of peace, investment and development – new challenges and new approaches”, the meeting is focusing on the challenges of diplomacy in attracting investment to the country, Mozambique’s candidacy to the United Nations Security Council and other administrative issues.
