World Bank to Provide $35M to Finance Electrification of Large Urban Areas in Nampula, Nacala-Porto and Angoche

The World Bank is financing the implementation of PRO-ENERGIA, an electrification project for neighbourhoods and expansion areas in the cities of Nampula, Nacala-Porto and Angoche, with around 35 million US dollars.

Of this amount, 12 million dollars is being invested in the electrification works of ten administrative posts in Nampula province and will be disbursed in phases until 2030.

The director of EDM, Nampula’s customer service area, Cristiano Neves, guaranteed that this year the electrification works at the Olúzi and Calipo administrative posts in the Mogovolas district and Nihessiue in Murrupula, covered by PRO-ENERGIA, will be completed.

Cristiano Neves said that the electrification of the ten administrative posts is progressing well.
