Schneider Electric Expands Technical Training Programmes for Young People

Schneider Electric, through its Foundation, has announced the expansion of its technical training programmes for young people in Africa, including Mozambique, as part of its commitment to education, entrepreneurship, and energy transition.

Through partnerships with organizations such as Don Bosco, Schneider Electric is implementing technical training programs in Mozambique focused on developing skills in the energy sector and promoting self-employment opportunities. These programs are part of the Youth Education & Entrepreneurship Program, which has already impacted more than 38,000 young people in English-speaking Africa and exceeded 824,000 beneficiaries worldwide by the end of 2024.

In Mozambique, the programs promoted in collaboration with Don Bosco aim to train young people in technical areas critical to the country’s energy future, namely energy management, electrical installation, and maintenance of sustainable energy systems. The initiative includes practical training, skills development for entrepreneurship, and encouragement of innovation.

Since its inception, Schneider Electric’s global program has certified more than 11,000 trainers and supported nearly 11,300 young entrepreneurs, exceeding its initial goals. The company remains on track to train one million people in energy management by the end of 2025 as part of its sustainability impact plan, Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI).
