Mozambique has received a grant of 25 million dollars from the African Development Bank and 100 million dollars from other funding agencies to finance the cost of Songo – Matambo 400kV Overhead Transmission Line Project.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the transmission network and to accommodate the existing suppressed demand and the expected load growth to the Central and Northern Regions of Mozambique as well as to enable interconnection with SADC power transmission grid.
The project Implementing Agency is Electricidade de Mozambique and it is expected to be executed over a period of 24 months after the commencement date.
