Galp reaffirmed its ambition to position itself as the safest energy company in the world, keeping the issue of safety at the top of the priorities of all the company’s employees.
The desire was expressed by the company’s CEO in Mozambique, Paulo Varela, during a visit to filling stations, logistics terminals and gas parks in Maputo and Beira.
According to the source, Galp has a proactive approach to safety, focusing on the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases, with the main objective being zero personal, material and environmental accidents.
“The safety of our people, our clients, our operations, protection of the environment and the communities in which we operate is paramount to Galp, as it is part of our DNA. The safer our operations are, the more confidence we transmit in the delivery of products to our partners and clients,” said Paulo Varela.
For her part, the head of Environment, Quality and Safety at Galp, Yolanda Lopes, added that the more the company is focused on the safety of its people and its processes, the more capable it will be of prospering and attracting the best results.
During the visits, Galp’s representatives had the opportunity to observe and assess the safety conditions in the facilities, as well as to talk to employees and service providers to better understand their concerns and ideas with a view to improving working conditions.
