The delay in the disbursement of the monetary values by the international donors compromises the resettlement deadline of the families covered by the route of the Temane/Maputo power transmission line, a 590 kilometre extension.
A total of 250 families from Manhiça, Marracuene and Boane districts are currently waiting to be removed from their places of residence to resettlement areas located in Gumbane, Boane town.
The provincial director of Territorial Development and Environment in Maputo explains that the completion of the houses to resettle the households was initially scheduled for next month.
She told Radio Mozambique that due to the phased disbursement of funding for the construction of houses for families affected by the Temane/Maputo power transmission line, the deadline for their resettlement could be extended until the end of this year.
