Market capitalisation, the main indicator of the Mozambican securities market, rose 12% from 164.2 billion meticals in 2022 to 183.9 billion meticals in 2023.
According to a document published by Lusa, the Mozambican stock exchange closed 2023 with 224.3 million treasury bonds traded, worth 21.9 billion meticals.
“The Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM) also traded 3.8 million corporate bonds (corresponding to 397.3 million meticals), 7.5 million shares and 660.3 thousand commercial paper bonds,” it said.
The organisation currently has 76 listed securities, including 13 companies, most notably Companhia Moçambicana de Hidrocarbonetos, Cervejas de Moçambique, Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa, Arko Seguros, Rede Viária de Moçambique, among others.
