Oil prices are recovering in today’s session after OPEC+ (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies, led by Russia) projected a global recovery for this year, even as covid-19 continues to spread massively across several countries on the Asian continent.
The Brent, which serves as a reference for Portugal, gains 0.7% to 66.11 dollars a barrel and the U.S. WTI (West Texas Intermediate) rises 0.8% to 62.39 dollars a barrel.
Yesterday, prices were pressured by the advance of covid-19 mainly in India, the world’s third largest oil consumer, behind the US and China. Still, and despite the oil cartel has warned about the health side in this country, as well as in Japan and Brazil, raised its projections for demand for the raw material for this year.
