The historic Microsoft co-founder said during the presentation of his new book on the Italian TV show “Che tempo che fa” that electric vehicles will dominate the car market.
Bill Gates has long been known to be a strong supporter of environmental issues, and this time he cited the “green” revolution that is taking the sector by storm, with increasingly frequent launches of electric and hybrid vehicles and rethought strategies to achieve carbon neutrality targets. Even outside the automotive sector, Bill Gates foresees a massive diffusion of electric power in a short period of time.
“In 10 or 15 years, I foresee a scenario where electric cars will dominate the market. There will be many more options to choose from for the consumer, charging stations will be widespread and accessible, and costs will be lower than those of fuelling petrol cars,” said the former Microsoft chairman.
For Bill Gates, the automobile market is a good example to follow, and he stated that there would really be a great change if in other sectors there was also a choice between sustainable products and others with negative environmental impact.
