Culture Ministry Launches Cultural and Creative Industries Prize

This is a biennial award that will recognize all the participants of the different artistic expressions, from music, plastic arts, theater, cinema, fashion, dance and design.

The initiative also establishes, in these artistic expressions, the award classes, career and revelation with a face value of one hundred thousand meticais per category.

At the launching of the prize, the minister of culture and tourism, Eldevina Materula, said that the sector she heads is registering, with optimism, the reemergence of its activities after the pandemic of COVID 19.

This first edition is called Cultural and Creative Industries Prize, José Craveirinha, in honor of the icon of Mozambican literature, who had he been alive would have turned 100 years old last May.

Still in the context of culture, the Mozambique Gems Catalog was launched, an event that marks the celebrations of the International Museum Day, marked today, May 18.

The Director of the National Museum of Geology, Dino Milisse said that, in a first phase, the initiative embraces the illustration of the resources of the north region of the country.

The work makes reference to more than forty species of gems, including quartz, topaz, hail, diamond, rubies and sapphires.
