Vodacom Business Launches New Solutions to Support Government and Business Sector in the Country

Vodacom Business launched, on Friday, July 22, the Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, in order to support the Government and the evolution of business in Mozambique.

According to the company, this is a platform that offers a set of applications developed for various sectors, with emphasis on city management, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, industrial sector and also solutions developed for intelligent building management.

The introduction of the new IoT solutions in the Mozambican market follows the recent partnership with the company IoT.nxt, which specializes in developing these solutions for a wide range of business challenges, including the current ambitions of business digitalization in Mozambique.

According to a statement, the partnership between Vodacom Business and IoT.nxt arises by the fact that Vodacom Mozambique is, in the national market, the company that holds the robustness necessary to accommodate and provide these solutions to corporate customers without constraints and also by the fact that IoT.nxt has active projects with more than three million terminals in the world and a technology already implemented in a variety of sectors that has proven to be a significant enabler to solve complex business challenges.

On the subject, José Correia Mendes, CEO of Vodacom Business, said that business in the world, in general, and in Mozambique, in particular, has been going through many transformations, and with this comes great challenges, so it is important to adopt intelligent digital solutions that contribute to the improvement of management, cost reduction and optimization of business operations.

“We believe that by integrating IoT solutions into our offerings, we are able to support a wide variety of local industries and once again position ourselves as the partner that offers the best technology solutions to meet our customers’ ambitions. Supporting the digitalization of business in Mozambique is a priority for us, so we have taken the lead in bringing these innovative solutions. For us, this partnership with IoT.nxt is an added value in supporting the implementation of existing solutions, as well as in developing new solutions tailored to the needs of our Customers,” said Mendes

In turn, Shane Cooper, CEO of IoT.nxt, noted that the introduction of these solutions for business in Mozambique will bring significant development, judging by the results already achieved in other African countries.

“While Customer needs are similar around the world, the African continent presents specific challenges due to the remoteness and inaccessibility of some facilities and limited connectivity in certain areas. The introduction of new technologies produces impressive results and we hope that with this partnership we can participate in solving unique challenges in Mozambique. The partnership with Vodacom Business is the ideal way to bring IoT (Internet of Things) to the Mozambican market, as we believe they are the ideal partner, with a robust infrastructure that allows the implementation of these solutions,” he added.

This technology allows easy data assimilation, which makes the adoption of these solutions the ideal choice for the optimization of business operations, just as it enables interoperability between systems that were not initially designed for this purpose. It is in this context that, by implementing these solutions in the national market, Vodacom Business wants to remain at the forefront in terms of innovative offerings of initiatives that leverage the business sector, for the welfare of all Mozambicans.
