Mozambique ranks among Africa’s top 15 countries with the lowest mobile data prices, according to Cable.co.uk, which analyzed the average cost of 1GB of mobile data over 30 days.
According to the report, Mozambicans pay an average of $0.17 per gigabyte, placing the country alongside Gambia and Congo in affordability.
Top 5 African countries with the cheapest mobile internet:
- Uganda – $0.02
- Mauritius – $0.02
- Comoros – $0.07
- Ghana – $0.08
- South Africa – $0.10
Mozambique ranks 11th among the 20 countries listed:
- Mozambique – $0.17
Despite infrastructure challenges across many African nations, the study shows that affordable mobile internet is achievable. Countries like Uganda and Mauritius serve as examples with near-zero pricing.
The report also highlights the vital role of expanding and modernizing mobile networks to foster digital inclusion, economic growth, and access to information throughout the continent.
