Meet Ondjoss, Africa’s WhatsApp

The African continent is stepping up its game in terms of development initiatives in all areas. The latest is the OnDjoss messaging app that aims to compete with WhatsApp.

OnDjoss is a messaging app developed by a young Cameroonian student. It is an African version of WhatsApp, but it has the particularity of sending large files. Like all the other messaging apps that already exist, OnDjoss has voice messages, group chats and calls.

Compared to WhatsApp, groups on OnDjoss can contain up to 500 people and data protection is part of the DNA, according to the initiators.

Storage is unlimited and the app also allows messages and files to be automatically stored on servers, they say. OnDjoss has also set itself the task of protecting stored messages and files from hacker attacks.
