The Mozambican government has challenged the new management of the Agency for Digital Transformation and Innovation, Public Institute (ATDI), to accelerate the country's digital transformation through solutions that deliver concrete results and have a direct impact on citizens' lives, MZNews reported.
The challenge was issued on Friday, 28 August, during the inauguration ceremony of Kétmia Matavele and Vasco Daniel Tovela as administrators of the operational and corporate portfolios of ATDI, respectively.
During the same ceremony, Margarida Chilaúle was also sworn in to serve as assistant to the minister. The new officials take up their roles at a time when Mozambique is seeking to accelerate the modernisation of public services through digital technologies.
Minister Muchanga called on the incoming administrators to carry out their duties with 'rigour, a sense of state responsibility, and a spirit of mission', advocating for results-oriented management at ATDI and a genuine improvement in the services delivered to citizens.
The administrators are also expected to consolidate a modern, efficient, and innovative ATDI, with a focus on secure, interoperable, and sustainable digital solutions capable of meeting the needs of citizens, businesses, and public institutions.
According to the minister, the agency's performance should not be assessed solely by the formulation of strategies, but above all by the impact of the solutions implemented. The new leadership is therefore tasked with translating digital transformation plans and policies into initiatives with concrete, verifiable outcomes.
