The analogical broadcasting transmitters located in the provinces of Nampula, Tete and Maputo City will be switched off until Monday, September 20, as part of the ongoing technological migration in the country.
The process is being carried out in two phases, the first one taking place until September 30, and the second one on December 31.
According to a note from the Mozambique National Communications Institute (INCM) sent to Notícias, in the first phase, transmitters located in Namaacha, Xai-Xai, Vilankulo, Chimoio, Quelimane, Tete, Nampula, Ilha de Moçambique, Nacala, Pemba, Linchiga and Cuamba will also be switched off.
In the second and last phase, transmitters from Massinga, Marromeu, Zóbuè, Songo, Monapo, Ribauè, Namialo, Ibo Island, Chiúre, Mandimba, Majune, Ngauma and Lago will be covered.
The note also states that the switch-off will be carried out in places where the digital signal and decoders are available.
All citizens who have access to the television signal through decoders do not need to change them, because these are already in the conversion phase from analog to digital system.
The Council of Ministers, in its 16th ᵃsession, through resolution n°.28/2012, of June 4, approved and determined the phases of the switch-off of analog broadcasting and television transmitters, with the purpose of completing the digital migration process.
