Ideialab, in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and RVO- Dutch Enterprise Agency, graduated, last week, 26 women who participated in the 10th edition of FemTech. The programme’s main objective is to support the business development of women entrepreneurs across the country, acting as an accelerator for micro and small businesses, focusing on business growth and personal development of women entrepreneurs.
The graduation ceremony, which took place at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in a hybrid model, was attended by women from Maputo, Sofala, Tete, Nampula and Cabo Delgado provinces.
The 10th edition of Femtch, which took place 100% online, began in February and over four months the participants had access to workshops, various work tools and business advisory sessions in order to structure the growth plan of their businesses.
Simultaneously, the trainees had the opportunity to integrate sessions led by business experts, where they learned subjects related to leadership, digital marketing, partnerships and negotiation, and sessions led by legal entities such as the Tax Authority, BAÚ, INAE and INSS.
“We are happy with the results achieved in this edition, we feel that we were able to reach more women from different parts of Mozambique and in diverse business areas.” “It was inspiring to see the dedication that these women gave to their businesses as well as the mutual support among them that has already started to generate some partnerships among the participants of this edition,” said Ilka Saide, Femtech Project Manager.
The participants of this edition belong to 15 different business areas, namely consultancy and service provision, communication and marketing, cleaning services, waste management, sale of education and training materials, among others.
On concluding the programme, the participants are now inserted in the Femmies Network, a women’s network made up of around 223 women entrepreneurs from previous editions who operate in 18 business areas.
“These months made me mature a lot, I started to have another vision not only of the business but of life and my role as a woman and entrepreneur.” “I can never thank you enough and I hope there will be more editions of Femtech so that more women can discover who they are and what they are capable of,” said Hawambo Alberto, a participant in the 10th edition of the Programme.
FemTech is implemented by ideialab since 2014 in Mozambique and currently has as partners the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and RVO- Dutch Enterprise Agency. It is a project aimed at women aged 25 and above who have had businesses in the market for at least two years.
