Shopify has launched Shopcast, a new application for Apple TV that allows businesses and merchants to monitor sales metrics, order volumes, and geographic performance data in real time, using large screens in offices, retail stores, and other workspaces via the tvOS operating system.
With the new application, Apple TV functions as a monitoring dashboard, enabling businesses to track their commercial performance across a range of environments, including offices, team workspaces, and points of sale.
Real-time metrics are among Shopcast's core features. The application displays key performance indicators such as total sales volume, number of orders, units sold, and average order value, with periodic updates to keep data current.
The tool also includes an interactive globe that allows users to track the geographic origin of purchases and identify the most active consumer markets.
Shopcast additionally offers comparative analysis and product performance functionality. Users can view top-selling items, identify the most in-demand product variants, and compare sales performance across e-commerce channels against physical points of sale.
Navigation is handled through the Apple TV Remote and is organised across five main sections: Revenue, Overview, Products, Retail, and Geography.
The application also allows users to switch quickly between different stores linked to a Shopify account, keeping data for each establishment separate.
Shopcast supports both light and dark display modes, allowing the dashboard's appearance to be adapted to user preferences and the environment in which the application is used.
To use the application, merchants require an active Shopify account, an internet connection, and authorisation to access the platform's control panel.
Shopcast is available for download on the tvOS App Store and is currently offered in English.
