China to Offer Mozambique an Environmental Monitoring Satellite

Mozambique, including other African countries, will soon have an environmental monitoring satellite developed by China, reports Notícias.
For the materialization of the project, the construction of a China-Africa Satellite Remote Sensing Applications Cooperation Center is planned.

Director of China National Space Administration (CNSA) Zhang Kejian said the project is in the cooperation plan between China and Africa, and it is expected that some countries will have direct benefit to support their own environmental development in a sustainable way. .

Last year, China launched a new sensing satellite via a Long March-2C carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northeast of the country.

The official said that China contributes its wisdom and strength to the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

China has made resource conservation and environmental protection a basic state policy for development. In addition, it promoted the construction of an ecological civilization committed to green development.

China is equipped with comprehensive monitoring capabilities for the identification of particulate matter, polluting and greenhouse gases, and clouds.
