Jetstream Africa, a logistics technology start-up based in Ghana, has unveiled an innovative platform called Jetvision.ai, which aims to increase cross-border trade in Africa through Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The company’s business model is based on providing autonomous logistics services, such as air, sea and land transport, customs clearance, collection, delivery and handling, for a fee. The company also provides financing to its clients.
This latest development allows local banks to use Jetvision.ai to offer trade finance products to companies deemed financially reliable. Initially, these services will be available in the West African region and will be progressively extended to other areas.
According to Innovation Village, Jetvision.ai is equipped with functionalities such as process automation, document management and trade finance. It also provides API (Application Programming Interface) integrations for services ranging from insurance to payments.
The tool will serve a large number of freight forwarders and companies in Africa. According to a LinkedIn post by CEO Miishe Addy, the platform is open to “50,000 freight forwarders and two million export and import companies” that play a crucial role in the progress of Africa’s supply chain.
Addy adds that incorporating Artificial Intelligence into Jetstream’s operations will revolutionise logistics and financing, and significantly empower companies.
The startup plans to intensify its presence in Africa’s 13 most important trade markets over the next two years.
