A batch of 188,160 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the United Kingdom arrived on Friday in Mozambique, announced the Covax international mechanism for vaccination support, of which the country is a beneficiary.
With this amount, Mozambique has already received 1.032.160 doses through the Covax initiative, about half of those allocated to the country (a total of 2.332.569).
By Saturday, 11 September, the vaccination campaign in Mozambique had left 1,719,139 people fully immunised, according to the Ministry of Health.
Mozambique has this month emerged from the third wave of infections and has a cumulative total of 1,902 deaths and 149,804 cases of Covid-19, of which 96% have recovered and 45 hospitalised.
