American watchmaker Timex has announced a collaboration with US designer Todd Snyder for the launch of the Marlin Mesh collection, a line of timepieces that revives the classic aesthetic of the 1960s and combines it with contemporary elements. The new models are distinguished by colours inspired by the Italian Riviera and stainless steel construction.
The Italian Riviera is the coastal region of north-western Italy, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, and is known for its beaches, historic villages, harbours, and the lifestyle associated with luxury tourism.
The collection features compact 34-millimetre diameter cases measuring 10 millimetres in thickness, preserving the visual language of vintage watches. Crafted in polished stainless steel, the models are aimed at consumers who appreciate understated, elegant accessories with a retro sensibility.
The watches are available in three colour variants — aqua blue, salmon pink, and silver — tones drawn from the landscapes and coastal atmosphere of the Mediterranean. The 18-millimetre stainless steel mesh bracelet features a quick-release system, allowing it to be swapped without tools.
Among the technical specifications, Timex highlights the use of a domed acrylic crystal, which allows minor scratches to be buffed out through polishing, as well as a corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic case. The models are powered by an analogue quartz movement with an SR626SW battery and offer water resistance to 30 metres, sufficient for splashes and handwashing.
According to the manufacturer, the collection aims to reconcile the brand's watchmaking heritage with a contemporary minimalist design, offering an accessible luxury alternative for enthusiasts of classic timepieces.
The Marlin Mesh collection is now available in the United States at US$199. Timex said the launch reinforces its strategy of expanding its offering of models inspired by archival pieces, 'at a time when vintage-inspired watches continue to grow in popularity among consumers and collectors.'
